KS3 English a little confusing? GCSEs and A Level Exams looming on the horizon? Does your child need a helping hand?
Welcome to Urchin Tutoring!
I offer secondary English tutoring for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, as well as reading lessons for reluctant readers - working one-to-one with students to inspire confidence and hopefully a love of books!
I am a highly qualified, Cambridge University educated English teacher whose career has spanned almost fourteen years, with experience of teaching and leading English across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 at a highly academic school.
My key competencies include enthusiasm and creativity but also a focus on the end goal and the responsibility to deliver.
I have the highest expectations and a fundamental belief that every child has the right to experience success; this includes stretching students to exceed their potential.

“My daughter started English tuition with Tania in Year 7. Given my daughter’s initial hesitance at being tutored, I was naturally worried but I needn’t have been. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her English tuition. Tania is an excellent tutor. She really takes the time to listen to and engage her students, and as a result my daughter has grown in confidence and received a glowing school report from her English teacher at the end of the year.” - Sakina (Mother of KS3 tutee)
“Thank you for all your help this year (and for the book recommendations!)” - Alice (A-Level tutee)
